QL17 with Portra 400vc film
These are pictures from my QL17 taken with Portra 400vc. The VC stands for “Vivid Color”. This film supposedly renders more saturated colors and reds. Overall, I was not really that happy with the film’s performance. Under exposed images turned out badly. Although, I am sure most of film’s lack of performance was due to user error.
here are some of the cooler photos:
Note, these were not really post processed. I was toooo lazy. Also, i personally believe crops + extensive adjustments is cheating!

My standard freeway, long exposure shot. Not sure if I like the green cast from the long exposure (13 seconds, timed externally with an iphone
)

Pictures were taken with kodak 400 Gold (cheapo) and some nice Ektar 100.
Canon Canonet QL17 GIII:
First of all, I had to dissasemble the entire lens of this camera to access the sticky shutter blades. The whole assembly was a huge pain, but I managed to pull it off. I actually did not know if the camera still functioned properly

4th of July
Today I went to take pictures of the fireworks and sunset at the glider port. As I was leaving the gliderport, I realized that more and more people were still coming in. Turns out, I missed the bigger fireworks show. I can actually hear the bigger show as I am sitting and making this entry! Oh well, there is always next year.

YESSSSS
My Custom jersey came! Boy, does it look awesome. I am extremely impressed with the quality. The material is a bit thick, but fits very well. It looks awesome, EXACTLY like my design! $30 for a custom jersey is unheard of

Also, a Canonet QL17, complete with a stuck shutter -_-. Either way, it is an impressive piece of machinery. They don’t make them like the used to.

Salsa
7-8 roma tomatoes (pick the hard ones)
1/2 of a large onion
1 or 2 cloves of garlic (if the onion taste is too strong, use 2 or more cloves. Garlic kinda cancels out onion)
1 bundle of cilantro (i usually pull off the stems, then chop the leaves, you can leave the stems if you are lazy.
2-3 jalapeños (depends on the size of the jalapenos. Also, if you want it spicy, leave the seeds in or add more jalapeños)
1/2 lime
spices:
salt
ground pepper
oregano
instructions:
dice tomatoes (approx 1 cubic centimeter or less)
dice onions ( same as tomatoes)
dice jalapeños
dice cilantro
dice the garlic REALLY small (2 cubic mm or less)
squeeze 1 lime
now, mix everything before adding the spices…
now add about 1/2 tablespoon salt
Add ALOT of pepper
Add a layer of oregano on top.
Mix everything again
Note: fight onion taste with garlic, and vice versa
